Obisumaru (オビス丸 Obisu maru?) is a recurring character in the Ganbare Goemon series. He is a thief and direct antagonist to Ebisumaru. He made his first appearance in Ganbare Goemon 2: Kiteretsu Shōgun Magginesu.

Ganbare Goemon 2: Kiteretsu Shōgun Magginesu
First appearance of Obisumaru in the series. He is only encountered in town stages. He moves in a straight line and makes brief stops every few steps. If he bumps into the player, he will "steal" one of their weapon power-ups; that is, making contact with him will degrade the player's weapon one level. He is a frequent enemy and he usually respawns many times in succession. If hit by the player, Obisumaru will flee the other way at high speed. This should be done only if necessary, though, as the player risks hitting one of the other townspeople and turn everybody hostile toward them.

- Obisumaru's design is an adaptation of the classic Thief enemy, being given his own personality and background. In his introductory appearance in Ganbare Goemon 2: Kiteretsu Shōgun Magginesu, he wears the same purple ninja outfit and, likewise, carries a large green sack on his back, although in later incarnations, his costume became orange/red instead.
