The Merchant is an enemy in The Legend of the Mystical Ninja. He is an inoffensive looking merchant struggling to move with the heavy pack he carries on his back.
Description
An apparently inoffensive looking traveling merchant who struggles to move with the bulky and heavy pack he carries on his back, which is presumably full of his selling wares. He is one of the most recurring enemies in the Ganbare Goemon series, and both his appearance and behavior haven't changed much between installments.
Appearances
The Legend of the Mystical Ninja
Called the Prank Merchant in this game, and with good reason. He only appears in Warlock Zone III: Amusement Park, along the bridge the heroes have to cross at the beginning of the stage. He just walks forward at a slow pace and rarely moves either up or down. When hit, he goes down with tears in his eyes and a peculiar looking jack-in-the-box like toy springs out of the pack he was carrying. Other than that, he doesn't actively attack the player, nor does he have any other means of attack.
Another variant is found at the end of the stage, beyond the area boss, Big Octo, and once again walking on a bridge. This time he is seen from a top-view perspective and moving away in direction to the north. Unlike the first variant, when hit, nothing will come out of the pack he carries this time around.
