Chief Official — goemon

The Chief Official is a recurring enemy in the Ganbare Goemon series. He is a security guard that patrols about and wields a long bō staff. He is one of the most classic and most recurring enemy characters in the series, appearing in several installments while having his characteristic way of attacking almost unchanged between renditions.

Description

Security guards are the low men on the totem pole when it comes to Japan's police force. They wield bō staves that give them a longer reach than the standard lantern-throwing Officials, and are always on the lookout for suspicious looking people to capture and build their careers upon.

The Legend of the Mystical Ninja

A variant of the standard Official, but instead of throwing lanterns, they just run about wielding a bō staff, which gives them a slightly longer reach than most other common enemies. They are generally found in the town areas of the levels, although they also appear in the final 2D action section of Warlock Zone IX: Final Story. Other than that, they don't do anything much else, so just keep out of their way or hit them for some easy cash.
